ABOUT THE PHOTOGRAPHER
I was born in 1973, in northeastern Brazil, and I am currently living in Hawaii and working for the Hawaii Institute of Marine Biology. I have been scuba diving since 1991, and taking pictures underwater since 1997. In 2003 I concluded a PhD in marine fisheries biology at the University of Florida. I photograph marine life in almost all tropical oceans equipped with scuba dive gear and an underwater digital camera. Due to numerous journeys to tropical locations around the world, my library contains more than 5,000 photos and is still growing.

I recently won a gold medal at the UnderwaterPhotography.com photo contest and a first place in the macro category of the 2006 Scuba Diving photo contest. My photographs have been published in books and magazines around the world.
